From the High Atlas mountains into the Sahara desert
Atlas Sahara Hike & Bike

Climb Morocco's highest peak and bike into the Sahara desert

Two of the great highlights of the south of Morocco are included in this bumper hiking and biking adventure from the High Atlas mountains to the Sahara desert. At 4167m above sea level, J'bel Toubkal is North Africa's highest peak and from its summit we can see the goal of our tour laid out in front of us as we gaze southwards towards the northern fringes of the Sahara desert. After enjoying the lush valleys and limestone peaks of the High Atlas, 5 days of off-road mountain biking takes us through the volcanic spur of the Sirwa range and down the celebrated Draa Valley to within striking distance of the Sahara. Here we mount our 4x4 vehicles and eventually hike into our nomad camp in the desert dunes. Then it's back to Marrakech to soak up the unique and highly charged atmosphere of one of the world's great medieval cities.
